Attractions
Whenever you choose to holiday in Cornwall, you'll find no shortage of fascinating things to do and places to visit. South East Cornwall in particular has some of the best and most varied countryside in the whole of the South West of England from the mists of Bodmin Moor, the creeks and valleys of the rivers, to the secluded coves, sandy beaches and rocky outcrops of the coastline.
Pack a delicious picnic of fresh local produce to tuck into after stretching your legs, lungs and horizons along our stunning coastal path. Or better yet, plan a route to end at any number of great restaurants or country inns offering excellent and mostly home grown food. With everything on offer from fine dining to pub grub as well as locally produced sparkling wines and real ales - food lovers will simply adore Cornwall.
Head inland and you’ll find some of the country’s finest historic
houses, and their beautiful gardens, stocked with rare plants which
thrive on the warm moist air that the Gulf Stream brings. A trip around
the plant shop will soon see you clutching an uncommon species just
ready for transplanting into your own ‘Garden of Eden’ back home.
No
trip to Cornwall is complete without at least one sightseeing trip and
there are plenty of picture-postcard towns and busy fishing villages to
explore. The cobbled streets, narrow winding walkways and small
independent shops create a charming atmosphere. And while shopping may
not be high on your holiday agenda, you’ll find it hard to resist the
urge to buy just a little something, even if it’s only an ice-cream.
For
families with kids there are a range of theme parks and farm
attractions that are bound to be a hit with all members. If that isn’t
enough, then there are also countless fairs, shows, exhibitions and
events running throughout the year. With activities ranging from
literary festivals to luggers races and fireworks to flower shows, a
quick leaf through the ‘what’s on guide’ of the local paper will soon
fill any remaining space in your diary!
Valleybrook is an
excellent base from which to visit the numerous attractions of South
East Cornwall and beyond and our on-site guidebook contains plenty of
other ideas and useful information about things to do and places to go
