Dogs Friendly Beaches

The majority of beaches accept dogs, a significant number exclude them during the summer months and a few very popular beaches exclude them all year.  We provide full details of the beach restrictions in our guide book in each accommoation, but advance information can be obtained from the link opposite. Below is a small selection of the many dog friendly beaches near Valleybrook.

Lansallos Bay – 2 miles

A beautiful small enclosed bay with a sand and single beach with a stream running down to the sea.  Reached by a 0.5 mile walk from the National Trust car park just above the church. The beach is not well known so doesn’t get too crowded.

Lantic Bay – 2.5 miles

The best kept secret of the area.  This large sandy beach with little coves beyond makes you feel like your in the Mediterranean.  There is a bit of a climb down to the beach from the car parks, where the toilets are situated, but once you get down to the sea, this excellent beach makes it well worth it.

Talland Bay – 3 miles

The bay consists of two little shingle beaches with some sand at low tide and is popular for swimming in the sea. An excellent rock pooling location with a shop/café and parking just behind the beach.  Dogs to be kept on a leash.

Par Sands – 5.25 miles

Located 3 miles west of the Bodinnick Ferry.  This is a wide sandy beach popular with families.  Due to shallow seas for some distance, there is a huge expanse of sand at low tide.  There is a stream, with a  little café and pub nearby.  A large car park is situated just behind the beach.
