Children large and small will especially delight in the space and
freedom to roam with an outdoor play-area plus a well-stocked games
room for those days when the weather just won’t play ball. These are
holidays as they used to be; with clean air, brilliant green lawns,
dappled woodland and secret glades to explore until bedtime. Many happy
childhood memories will be made here. With so much already on offer at
Valleybrook and its environs, we did not feel it necessary to provide
any other paying facilities such as a pool or club-house.
Well-behaved dogs are always welcome at Valleybrook and all our
properties offer private gated gardens for your pets to enjoy, plus a
large off lead exercise paddock for more strenuous fun.
Although
remote from the busy tourist resorts, Valleybrook is within easy reach
of towns, coasts and attractions and provides an ideal base for
exploring the wonders of Cornwall. The mild Cornish climate, warmed by
the comforting Gulf Stream winds, makes Valleybrook a truly
all-year-round haven. Come and stay at any time of year and you will
find a constant oasis of warmth and comfort, rain or shine.
To add that something extra making your stay with us even
more enjoyable, we have recently teamed up with award winning chef Nick Barclay
and his business food4myholiday.com. This tailored ordering and delivery service
allows you to select and enjoy some of the very best local produce (including professionally prepared ready meals for that all
important first night), plus all the other basic supplies you need. We are proud to be involved in this new
venture, allowing guests to not only avoid the stress of an arrival day
shopping dash, but to introduce them to a range of quality foods that support
and promote our fantastic regional suppliers.
This is how shopping should be!
Spring
In
Spring the weather is mild and sunny, beaches and coastal paths as yet
un-crowded. The famous gardens of Cornwall; Lost Gardens of Heligan,
The Eden Project, Lanhydrock Gardens - are particularly fine. The
hedgerows are alive with colour and our woodland is carpeted with
bluebells.
Summer
Close your eyes and remember
summer’s as they used to be. Old-fashioned picnics, blue skies for
swimming and sailing, time spent outdoors as families and couples soak
in the delights of a truly delicious Summer. Open them again and this
is Valleybrook in Summer.
Autumn
In Autumn the weather
is still warm, tourists have gone, but our beach and coastal walks are
flooded with gentle sun. Come and stay in October - perhaps visit the
Eden Project, St Ives or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, in peace. Savour
the delicious earthy Autumn menus in our local restaurants, then come
back to Valleybrook and relax. You deserve it.
Winter
Winter
is indulgence time at Valleybrook. It is mild enough to go outside, and
the South Cornish light raises the spirits and energy. A walk in our
crisp clean fresh air will certainly revive you! Most of our guests are
seduced by something just as warming however - mugs of real hot
chocolate, scrabble tournaments or the lure of a good book curled up by
the fireside!
Valleybrook has been owned and run by Keith,
Denise and Brian Holder since October '96. Prior to that Denise and
Brian lived in Wiltshire, whilst Keith worked in the leisure industry
both in the UK and Europe. The family take great pride in the standards
of service that they provide to guests and are always on hand to offer
help or advice and to make time for a friendly chat.
